Speaker Panels
SBS has established connections with dozens of current professionals in all facets of the sports industry. Each panel, made up of 3-4 speakers and a student moderator, provides students with abundant information about job opportunities, career paths, day-to-day life, and more. After every panel, students have the chance to network and ask their own questions with panelists.

Sports Media: Speakers included Rich Phillips (Voice of the SMU Mustangs), Joe Trahan (Tony Fay PR Sr. Director), and James Westling (ESPN Play-by-Play Announcer). Students learned about the behind-the-scenes of calling games, interviewing and working alongside athletes, and doing media relations for high-profile sporting events.

Team Operations: Speakers included Bryan Filker (SMU Football Director of Recruiting Ops), Reed Zahradnik (Texas Rangers Analyst of Player Personnel), and Nick Petrucelli (Dallas Trinity FC Asst. Coach). Students learned about the recruiting and scouting process in both college and professional sports, XXX, and XXX.
